Remember when I told you on Facebook that I’ve been super busy, hence my disappearance on the blog and my Facebook page? There’s no doubt I’ve been blessed with being so busy with weddings galore and lifestyle sessions, but there are more. Here’s the latest <3

With owning your business comes a constant awareness of your identity. With my career background (other than photography) in the advertising and design industry, I’m always looking to how I can refine myself – how can I make not only my photography better but my first appearance to all of you strong and consistent with who I am. As I sat looking at my website, I thought – this was me but I’ve changed over the past 6 months. This isn’t me any more. So I began the journey to find out what my business means, what it looks like. I went through the past 6 months of my work and then it hit me.

Jenna Marie Photography lives for simplicity and love. My style is all about being romantic, timeless, and capturing life as it happens. That thought process influenced my whole look and feel – going from a more complex logo with bright accent colors to something much simpler, something timeless, something romantic.

I found the most amazing calligrapher to develop my new logo, which I’m obsessed with if I can say so myself. Once I had that, I knew my color palette – the most basic and beautiful black + gold. Aside from my logo, I redesigned my whole site and am so proud of myself. I striped everything down to a clean overall appearance. ALSO by popular request, I have made my website mobile friendly allowing all of you to be able to clearly read my site and blog on your beloved phones! I hope you all love it <3

So that’s the first surprise! The second surprise is even better.

For the entire fall season, I’ve been a bit preoccupied. Not only have I been busy as ever with shooting weddings and lifestyle galore… plus redesigning my brand including my website and all marketing materials… I’ve also taken up interior design… of a baby’s room… since this just happened…

In case you missed my subtle announcement, we’re pregnant!!!! Jake and I are soooo so SO excited! I’ve been overly fortunate to be one of the few pregnant women that haven’t experienced any symptoms – that’s right, no morning sickness, no weird pains, no dizziness, no food aversions, heightened smell, cravings, nada. Not even showing yet. I joke with Jake that I honestly don’t feel pregnant at all. Life feels completely normal. The only time it hits me is when we had an ultrasound done and we saw our little baby moving around… and then when we go to the doctor and hear it’s little heart beat.

For the friends and family we’ve told already, they were all amazed that we were so far along and still hadn’t revealed it to the world. The truth is, yes we’ve waited longer than usual to share this with everyone. With this being our first, we really wanted to take time to soak it all up. To spend time with each other celebrating the life we’ve created. To enjoy the love we have for each other and live it up.

For all my current weddings next season, don’t worry this won’t affect any of your gorgeous days. I’m a planner and made sure that I wasn’t taking anything on that I wouldn’t be able to handle. The biggest change will be with my lifestyle clients. I’ll be taking on a limited number of sessions in the first half of the year. If you want sessions done at that point, please contact me as soon as possible to lock in your date! For the second half of the year in prime time for fall pictures, I’ll be back to normal!

I’m so excited to finally be able to share all of this new news with all of you babes!! I’ll be posting some updates on me from time-to-time :) I can’t wait to share my journey with you all and to continue to capture the sweet moments in life for you <3
