It’s crazy to think about how fast time flies! It feels like just yesterday that Jake and I found out we were having a little babe. And now? Now I’m 7 months and in my 3rd trimester. How crazy is that?!

I assumed at this point there would have been soooo much to share, but much like back in December when I first announced this, nothing really has changed hence no blog posts. Luckily I’ve still been feeling fabulous – thank you momma for those genes! The only thing I’ve noticed is that my lower abs are sore. Sometimes I make a groaning noise when I get up from a lower seat. Other than that, nada. I hope these are all good signs that I’m going to have a really easy rest of the pregnancy and easy labor.

The biggest news is that we found out the gender of our bebe – A BOY!!! We were so on-the-fence about finding out. Part of us wanted to wait but the other part was dying to find out! Jake made the best point ever about how the day our baby is born, there are so many surprises in store for us – is he healthy, how big is he, how long is he, what does he look like, what is his name? Rather than jam pack all the surprises into a day already full of them, why not break apart the fun and spread them out! I’m honestly so happy we did. I feel so much more at ease now and relaxed. I’m not analyzing everything that’s happening to figure out of it’s a boy or girl. It’s nothing but calmness now <3

We went into the doctor for our hour long ultrasound back in early January! It was so amazing to see our baby moving around and how big he had grown since we last saw him in November. He was massive and so adorable! Lucky for us he was super cooperative and moved at the perfect time allowing us to get all the necessary measurements we needed. We got an A++ for his health saying everything is showing that he’s perfect – such a blessing!! Of course once it got time to see the baby parts, we looked away. We wanted the moment to be special, something between just Jake and I so we had the tech write the gender down and put it in an envelope. We drove home, got our pup, and headed to the spot that Jake proposed – we figured life kinda started there, right :) We opened the envelope and literally we both screamed at the top of our lungs! I was jumping sky high, poor Brick in utter confusion. I had always wanted a boy to be my first!! Funny thing is that pretty much everyone in our family thought it was a girl. Surprise surprise :)

I think the hardest part of having a boy is figuring out his name. Seriously, figuring out a name is a huge undertaking. Knowing that it will stick with him forever? Aye. Then finding one that we both like. I, of course, love crazy unique names. Jake, well he prefers his name ;) Figuring out a girls name was a breeze. I knew exactly what I wanted, partially because I didn’t love tons, and Jake loved it too. We had that figured out at like week 16. But for a boy? Aye. So many choices. We have our list narrowed down to like 10 and are in the “make fun of this name in every way possible to make sure he doesn’t get picked on” stage. Exciting yet stressful time, but I think we have it narrowed down to where we both agree with the front runner :) I sure hope he likes it!

One of the most exciting developments (other than the fact we’re having a boy) is that I feel him move now… ALL THE TIME. I first felt him at 19 weeks in what felt like little pops in my stomach. At about 21 weeks it turned into a full-on hard kick that both Jake and I could feel on the outside of my stomach. I have to admit I’m totally excited for this babe but I haven’t been overly crazy or going gaga about anything. Probably one of the calmest pregnant women who literally forgets she’s pregnant. But let me tell you, when I felt him first kick and Jake did too, it was some kinda special :) It’s literally my favorite part of every day now. I feel him non-stop and the kicks are getting harder. He’s starting to kick upward now near my ribs. It’s cute but I hope he doesn’t get too much stronger or else those little feet are going to hurt! Yes I want to start training him for the NFL but I’d prefer to train him AFTER he’s out of my body!

AND at 7 months, I’ve finally got a baby bump. It took forever to get here but it’s for sure here now. It totally came up over the weekend, just appeared! I was lucky enough to fit into my normal clothes up until now, but I think it’s officially time to transfer to maternity clothes – at least bottoms. To be honest, I had wanted the bump for so long – probably because I never felt pregnant so I wanted something to help validate to me that I was. But now that I have it, well I feel like I’m in that uber fat stage where I ate too much food and am bloated. I’m sure those feelings will pass, but that’s what I’m dealing with now in the mirror. Luckily in the usual type of clothing I wear, people still can’t see it much :) Baby bump selfie to come soon!

On another note, I’ve absolutely loved preparing the nursery!! It’s been a blank room since we moved in late December. I’ve been so excited to get it started, and we’ve finally made some progress! We went out a few weeks back and bought our stroller/car seat system and our crib. Once the crib was delivered, it was pretty simple to put together :) We ordered our changing table and chair too, which just came this past weekend! Waiting on those has been the hardest – over 4 weeks! I’m in love with everything, but this chair you guys… it’s amazing. And just the most comfortable thing I’ve ever put my booty on. I’m in love :) Now I’m in the stage where I’m slowly decorating. It’s a tad overwhelming to figure out the full theme and how colors play together and what art work to do when everything is online. Rather than spending every night (which has been the case) online trying to figure everything out and creating design boards, I decided to slowly start purchasing items and see how they fit in the space and go from there. I just ordered my mobile and some other decor the other day that I am overly excited to share!! OMG guys, I’m obsessed. Then this past weekend, Jake helped me bring some of my ideas to life with some creative ways of adding storage to his nursery without buying more furniture so it’s not overly crowded. OMG it’s awesome. I’m so excited for it all to come together so I can share with you guys soon :)

Next up for us are bi-weekly doctor appointments to check in on how I’m doing :) So far momma is healthy and have only gained 2 lbs since my first doctor’s visit in November BUT (personal pat on the back) I’m technically the same exact weight as when we first got pregnant. My biggest fear has always been that I’d gain 70+ lbs and just be awful. Granted I still have more time to go and this is when the babe is gaining the most weight, so I pray I keep healthy!

Enough of my blabbing :) Props to you if you made it this far! More updates to come soon with baby bump pics <3
