Hawai’i has always held a special place in my heart. Something about the vibe there. The culture. It’s peaceful. And calming. It’s like all your stress goes out the window. Shortly after I first met Jake, his parents were so kind to take us to Maui. I hadn’t been there before, nor had really traveled to anywhere like that before so I didn’t know what to expect. We stayed in their family’s villa in Kapalua. There’s something about staying in a house instead of a hotel that makes you feel at home. Like you live there. And like you belong. It takes that “tourist” element away. I fell deep in love with Maui on that trip! I could go on about all the ways I love it <3 Since that trip, we’ve returned numerous times. And every single time, it feels like home. It feels like where we belong. So when we got married, it was a no-brainer where we were going on our honeymoon – Hawai’i. Fast-forward to last summer, Jake and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary #whoopwhoop! We had always planned to go back to Hawai’i on our big anniversaries! This time being extra special because we had Landon, who had just turned 1 a month before. We couldn’t wait to have him experience the place that we love so much. And little did I know, Jake had planned a big surprise (#foreshadowing). We stayed for 2 weeks, again in his family’s villa, and just took everything in. The relaxation. The beauty. Spending lots of time at our favorite beaches. Disconnected from social media. It was mellow and just amazing <3  So here you have it. Post 1 of 3 of our Hawai’ian adventures <3
