This past week (August 20th to be exact) was my parents 38th anniversary. Being busy with preparing for a wedding on Friday, the date slipped my mind. Until this past weekend when I brought my babe to the cemetery to see his grandpa. And reality struck that I forgot to wish my parents a happy anniversary. To me, it’s important to take a day to recognize their love. To thank them. To honor them as my parents. For without that day 38 years ago, I wouldn’t be here nor would my fabulous sister. Or in fact neither would my baby or my nephews and niece. While it may seem insignificant to joyfully celebrate an anniversary, it truly was the beginning of my life. And to them, I am forever grateful.
And while my dad is no longer with us on this Earth, I know that he still shines down on our family every minute of every day. I can feel with with me. And I know he still looks lovingly on my momma, looking over her and protecting her all these years. You see, true love never ends. Life nor death can separate love. Love isn’t meant to be something that stops, because well… it’s love. Love is forever.
So to you momma and daddy, I love you both more than anything. Thank you for showing me how to love and what love is <3
