Today marks one month since THIS happened, and guys I couldn’t be happier! Today being October 1st, reality kinda hit! Every day into this dream of mine is a day happier!

I’ve been able to spend SO much more time on not only shooting but also focusing on my business. Spending more time in the moment and putting my heart into what I do. I’ve been able to get to know my couples better and make more genuine friendships with those in my industry. It’s been amazing!

Not only have I had time to focus on my passion, but most importantly I’ve been able to spend time with this adorable little babe of mine <3 Being home to see his first roll over, watching him learn to grasp things, seeing him discover his toes, hearing his baby giggles, just everything he does. I melt every day. It’s been such a blessing to have the opportunity I do have, and I’m forever grateful for this <3

In my first official month of self-employment, I’ve recognized a few things about myself…

— Leggings have become my uniform. They’re just so comfy to sit at my desk in.

— When I look through my closest, I realize I need to clean it out because I’ll never wear 1/2 the stuff in there any more.

— I look forward to getting dressed up (aka: in normal clothes) to take the babe out on some errands.

— I suck at eating lunch. Like really suck. I just snack on little things here and there. I must eat a legit lunch. For real.

— I find an excuse to leave here a couple times a week to stretch my legs and walk with the babe. It’s so nice to have the freedom to run errands if I need to OR to just stop working and go outside.

— My favorite mid-day break is to take the babe on the balcony and sit with him. It’s so cute watching him as he starts to play with toys or just enjoying the baby snuggles.

— The hardest thing to do is to separate your to-do lists, photography separate from regular life. I tend to spend the morning cleaning up the house and doing laundry and dishes. I have to have a clean environment to think clearly :) But for real, I need to find a way to better schedule each day so I don’t get carried away with house/regular life items.

— My to-do list gets longer each day. I always find new things I want to do as a photographer. Things I was never able to do before. It’s kinda awesome! I really want to learn calligraphy and possibly start doing workshops to help educate others that are just starting out!

— Babies like a lot of attention. Typing one-handed is a skill I’m learning to master.

— Spotify is my new best friend.

— I love seeing my husband again. He gets home during my office hours so he takes the babe while I finish up the day!

— I have a legit focus problem that I need to fix. My brain operates at a million times a minute, so I’m constantly jumping from one thing on my to-d0 list then to the next before the first one is finished. I end up having 15 things half done instead of 7 things complete.
