First, let’s bring back these OBSESSIONS OF THE WEEK! It’s been forever since I last posted, but I still have so many amazing things to share!

Most of you haven’t heard of this product. As of last spring, neither had I! Remember Kelly Peach – the amazing hair + makeup artist I’ve talked about before from Portland? She opened my eyes to this amazing line of products. When I was on set with her, she kept spraying this amazing product that smelled so good! She used it in every model’s hair as well as hers. Obviously a girl had to ask. When I got home, I immediately bought 2 things from them – Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray + Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray. Oribe – pronounced or-bay.

Technically I don’t think it’s categorized as a dry shampoo, rather it’s seen as an alternate for dry shampoo. Kelly taught me that I reaaaaally need to stop washing my hair so much (I was doing every other day). Washing that often will dry out your hair. She told me to try going 3-4 days without washing. HOLY COW! How in the heck? That was until I got home and tried this stuff. Now I wash my hair on day 1, day 2 my hair is usually still good but I may use this stuff. Day 3 I definitely use this, then day 4 the hair goes up and the cycle starts again.

This stuff comes out like an aersol. I lift sections of my hair and spray 7-8 inches away from my head, but aiming at the roots. No need to brush it through AND no ashy white residue! I just shake my hands through my hair once I’m done and voila! It adds amazing texture and body, plus gets rid of any oil that your hair has built up!

The second product I love is Oribe Après Beach. This one I actually discovered on my own while perusing through their site. I have a natural wave to my hair and am always on the hunt for light products to use to help accentuate the wave. Let’s cut to the point, I love this stuff. It smells soooo good, gives body, and helps give my (sometimes limp) curls the extra help it needs. And the best part, it’s incredibly lightweight so you can’t even tell there’s anything in your hair! For application, I spray 7-8 inches away primarily at the bottom of my hair then do a light scrunch to get the waves rocking!

You can buy these products online at Oribe or at any local salon that carries this product. You can look on their site to find who near you carries it! The Dry is $42 for the large size and the Oribe Après Beach is $39. A little pricier but the stuff works great and seems to last forever!

Next up on my list to try? Their shampoos. They sent me a sample of it with my purchase and I kinda fell in love! More to come on that one :)

Happy shopping!

  1. […] with dry shampoo. I’ve actually been pretty obsessed with it every since. I still use this spray from Oribe. I still love it and think it’s great. BUT I think this stuff from R+Co is way […]
