Hawai’i has always held a special place in my heart. Something about the vibe there. The culture. It’s peaceful. And calming. It’s like all your stress goes out the window. Shortly after I first met Jake, his parents were so kind to take us to Maui. I hadn’t been there before, nor had really traveled to anywhere like that before so I didn’t know what to expect. We stayed in their family’s villa in Kapalua. There’s something about staying in a house instead of a hotel that makes you feel at home. Like you live there. And like you belong. It takes that “tourist” element away. I fell deep in love with Maui on that trip! I could go on about all the ways I love it <3 Since that trip, we’ve returned numerous times. And every single time, it feels like home. It feels like where we belong. So when we got married, it was a no-brainer where we were going on our honeymoon – Hawai’i. Fast-forward to last summer, Jake and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary #whoopwhoop! We had always planned to go back to Hawai’i on our big anniversaries! This time being extra special because we had Landon, who had just turned 1 a month before. We couldn’t wait to have him experience the place that we love so much. And little did I know, Jake had planned a big surprise (#foreshadowing). We stayed for 2 weeks, again in his family’s villa, and just took everything in. The relaxation. The beauty. Spending lots of time at our favorite beaches. Disconnected from social media. It was mellow and just amazing <3 So here you have it. Post 1 of 3 of our Hawai’ian adventures <3

When your friends get engaged, of course the first thing that runs through your mind is pure excitement for them… followed immediately by “please oh please let me shoot your wedding!” When Brooke + Pat asked me to do their wedding, I lit up with pure joy! Capturing any wedding is absolutely humbling and beautiful. But when it’s two people you know and were part of your own wedding, well it makes it that much sweeter.
Brooke is a total fashionista, so I knew every single detail of her wedding was going to be gorgeous! The venue alone, the Nature Museum, is just beautiful. Add on top of that two beautiful people, the funnest bridal party, the prettiest color palette, gorgeous florals, and a killer gown? Oh and did I mention that all of their guests lit up the dance floor? Brooke + Pat, it was such an honor to capture your wedding! Thank you for asking me to be a part of your day. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Brackett!

When your venue is the Museum of Contemporary Art, well it’s the perfect backdrop for a unique wedding. And unique doesn’t begin to describe this wedding!
Two amazing people. The prettiest outside ceremony in the heart of the city. Skyline views every which way you looked. The love that these people attract is amazing! You could feel the outpouring love from every single guest for Sonia + Roman! Once the ceremony was over? Say hello to the most beautiful floral designs from Exquisite Designs. No seating charts. No itinerary. Just fun! And by fun? Yep, a grafitti wall photobooth, casino games, the most delicious food stations, a rocking band. Oh and there’s Black Dog Gelato (#thebest) and, oh NBD, a psychic! Seriously guys, this wedding is unreal! Here are some of the highlights to the day! Thank you to all the amazing vendors for making this day happen – especially Kirstin of Lola Events for the on point wedding planning!!

If you’re ever wondering “should we bring our pup to our engagement session?,” the answer should be a resounding “YES!” I feel like I say this about everyone, but seriously I’m in love with these two (#ihavethebestcouplesever)! They’re adorable together and two of the nicest people you could ask to work with. The countdown has begun for their wedding this November <3
